As fast as December flies by, my husband found some time for one house project that made the Christmas season a bit more magical. We decided to frame out and spruce up our fireplace a bit. It was the first Christmas we actually had a fireplace (even though I'm still not certain what the purpose is in Arizona) but Santa can officially come to our house so we thought it should look lovely, right?
We were inspired by this fun fireplace redo: http://www.younghouselove.com/2013/03/fireplace-makeover-stick-a-fork-in-it/
This was very doable for us since we already had some tile, it was just a bit overwhelming.
Michael started by framing it out:
Then he added the top layer and the molding details. I love that he continued our new baseboard on the bottom.
Next was priming, sanding, caulking and painting.
^Gotta love a talented, handy man!

This project definitely made my nice list! When he finished that, it was definitely a Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight...
That turned out perfect! Such an improvement. You are lucky to have a husband who is a handy-man.
